This skillful and cultured poet brought the adventures of Renart the Fox, known previously only in Latin, to a wider, French-speaking public. The two earliest branches of the Roman de Renart, II and Va (ca. 1174–77), which relate the love affair of Renart and Hersent the she-wolf, are attributed to him. Though he imitated Ysengrimus for three episodes (“Renart and Chantecler,” “Renart and the Titmouse,” “Renart and Hersent”) and Marie de France for another (“The Fox and the Crow”), “Renart and Tibert the Cat” is his own invention. He pokes fun at the legal system, pontifical legates and certain religious institutions, princes and nobles, through a subtle parody, intended largely to evoke laughter, of the chansons de geste and Arthurian romance. Born in New York City in 1946, Foster was raised in Los Angeles. After receiving a Bachelor\'s Degree in Political Science and a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema from UCLA (1968, l969) he spent two years as a copywriter for a small Studio City, Calif. advertising and public relations firm. His writing career began when August Derleth bought a long Lovecraftian letter of Foster\'s in 1968 and much to Foster\'s surprise, published it as a short story in Derleth\'s bi-annual magazine The Arkham Collector. Sales of short fiction to other magazines followed. His first attempt at a novel, The Tar-Aiym Krang, was bought by Betty Ballantine and published by Ballantine Books in 1972. It incorporates a number of suggestions from famed SF editor John W. Campbell. Brian Patten was born in 1946 in Liverpool, and grew up in the docklands. He left school at fifteen, becoming a junior reporter on The Bootle Times, with responsibility for writing the popular music column. One of his first pieces included a report about McGough and Henri. This led on to him producing and editing the magazine Underdog, which gave a platform to the underground poets in Liverpool at that time. His own work came fully to public attention with the publication of Little Johnny\'s Confession in 1967, when he was twenty-one years old. Since then he has written numerous adult poetry collections, including Vanishing Trick (1976) Armada (1996), which includes some of his most striking poems, focusing on the death of his mother and his memories of childhood. Alice Lemieux-Lévesque
Alice Lemieux-Lévesque était une écrivaine québécoise née à Québec le 23 septembre 1905 et décédée dans la même ville en janvier 1983 à l'âge de 77 ans. Femme poète et journaliste québécoise, elle vécut plus de vingt-huit ans aux États-Unis. Alice Lemieux-Lévesque fit ses études secondaires chez les Ursulines, reçut ensuite une formation d’infirmière au sanatorium Prévost de Montréal et séjourna en Europe (1929-1930). Après son mariage en 1935 avec le poète franco-américain Rosaire Dion-Lévesque, elle s’installa à Nashua, New-Hampshire où elle vécut jusqu’en 1964. Elle publia son premier recueil « Heures effeuillées » à Québec en 1926. Le second recueil, « Poèmes » (Montréal, 1929), lui valut le prix David ex aequo avec Simone Routier, auteur de « L’immortel adolescent ». Grâce à ce prix, elle partit étudier à la Sorbonne en 1930. 1826 – 1890 Carlo Collodi este pseudonimul lui Carlo Lorenzini. Este un prozator italian care înainte de a deveni celebru autor de operă pentru copii a lucrat în ziaristică și a scris câteva comedii și romane. După 1875 se dedică literaturii pentru copii. În 1876 scrie cartea Giannettino iar acest personaj apare în mai multe povestiri. Din anul 1881 Carlo Collodi publică, timp de trei ani, în “Ziarul copiilor” – Povestea unei marionete. În anul 1883 publică celebrul volum “Le aventure di Pinocchio” – Aventurile lui Pinocchio, o carte care se adresează copiilor de toate vârstele. Succesul de care s-a bucurat apariția acestei povești dedicate copiilor a făcut să fie publicată în multe ediții și să fie tradusă în mai toate limbile pământului.

Scriitor S-a nascut pe 3 iulie 1883 la Praga, într-o familie evreiasca, fiu al comerciantului Herman Kafka si al Juliei Kafka, nascuta Loewy. Limba materna a lui Franz Kafka, în care a si scris mai târziu, era totusi germana, ca la ca. 10% din populatia ora*ului Praga în acea epoca. Dupa absolvirea liceului german, a studiat Dreptul, apoi a lucrat un timp la tribunalul din Praga si mai târziu ca avocat la o companie de asigurari (1908-1922. A parasit doar rareori Praga, traind intr-un "cerc strâmt" pâna catre sfârsitul vietii. In 1909, publica primele sale schite de proza în magazinul literar Hyperion, care aparea la München. Îmbolnavindu-se de tuberculoza (1917), a fost internat într-un sanatoriu din Italia. Starea sanatatii lui se agraveaza si, începând din 1922 nu mai poate lucra. Sherko Bekas s-a născut pe 2 Mai 1940 la Suleimania. În anul 1961, lovit de un mandat de captură ale autorităților din Bagdad pentru activitatea sa poetică se uni ai Persh merga ( partizani kurzi) și deveni vocea rezistenței kurde. În 1970 cu alți autori publică manifestul Observatorul pentru renovarea limbajului literar. Alternă activitatea literară luptei până în 1987 când a fost constrâns să se refugieze în Suedia. A publicat o decină de cărți de poezie, două opere teatrale și un roman în formă poetică. În anul 1988 a primit premiul internațional Tocholsky al clubului scriitorilor suedezi.
