Wendy Cope
Wendy Cope is an award-winning contemporary English poet. She was educated at Farringtons School and read history at St Hilda\'s College, Oxford. She now lives in Winchester with the poet Lachlan Mackinnon. Following her graduation from St Hilda\'s College, Cope spent fifteen years as a primary-school teacher. In 1981 she became Arts and Reviews editor for the Inner London Education Authority magazine- Contact. Five years later she became a freelance writer and was a television critic for The Spectator magazine until 1990. Three books of her poetry have been published (Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis in 1986, Serious Concerns in 1992 and If I Don\'t Know in 2001), and she has edited several anthologies of comic verse. In 1998 she was voted the listeners\' choice in a BBC Radio 4 poll to succeed Ted Hughes as Poet Laureate. She was a judge of the 2007 Man Booker prize.

Rene Char
René Char (n. 14 iunie 1907 - d. 19 februarie 1988) a fost un poet francez René Char est un poète et résistant français né le 14 juin 1907 à L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue et décédé à Paris le 19 février 1988 René Émile Char est le cadet des quatre enfants nés des secondes noces, en 1888, d'Émile Char et de Marie-Thérèse Rouget, sœur de sa première épouse, Julia Rouget, décédée en 1886 un an après leur mariage. Son grand-père paternel, Magne Char, enfant naturel et abandonné, dit Charlemagne, était né en 1826 à Avignon. Son père Joseph Émile Magne Char, qui abrège son nom, administrateur délégué des plâtrières de Vaucluse et maire de L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue à partir de 1905, meurt le 15 janvier 1918. Bien que les conditions matérielles d’existence de la famille deviennent alors précaires, René Char passe son enfance aux « Névons », la vaste maison familiale dont la construction venait d'être achevée à sa naissance. Georges Brassens
Georges Brassens, né à Sète, Hérault, le 22 octobre 1921, mort à Saint-Gély-du-Fesc, Hérault, le 29 octobre 1981, est un poète auteur-compositeur-interprète français. Il mit en musique et interpréta, en s’accompagnant à la guitare, plus d'une centaine de ses poèmes et ceux d’autres poètes dont Paul Fort. Il enregistra de 1952 à 1976, 14 albums. Il reçu le Grand Prix de poésie de l'Académie française en 1967. Louis-Jacques-Napoléon “Aloysius” Bertrand (20 April 1807 – 29 April 1841) was a French poet instrumental in the introduction of the prose poem into French literature and is credited with inspiring later Symbolist poets [1]. He wrote a collection of poems entitled Gaspard de la nuit, after which composer Maurice Ravel wrote a suite of the same name, based on the poems "Scarbo", "Ondine", and "Le Gibet". Bertrand was born in Ceva, Piedmont, Italy (then a part of Napoleonic France) and his family settled in Dijon in 1814. There he developed an interest in the Burgundian capital.
