Incontinent happening

in tears
the evening’s shadows
keep back the hunters
while dropping their weapons
on the narrow path
which leads them to the sheepfold
where the black lambs
are feeding on the white wolfs
the sacrifice turns into trade
the saint disavowing his halo
turns into villain
the eagles are falling in
the snakes are taking wing
the answer is throttled by questions
the world is burked in limitations
the word used to say everything
becomes small
there is nothing to tell itself through
not at all
the stone whispers a verse
the unique identical with the inverted self
requires the rite of invocation
the water’s purl stands still in silence
