Olly Komenda Soentgerath
Olly Komenda Soentgerath was born as German in Prague. She studied Germanistik and History at the Karl University. First poems appeared in the \"Prager day sheet\". In the Federal Republic of Germany she published so far ten poem volumes and a Prosaband. Seifert translated her poems into Czech and published them in three volumes in Prague two years before she received the 1984 Nobelprize. The poems of Olly Komenda Soentgerath were published in numerous anthologies, newspapers and magazines. They were toned and translated into several languages - the authoress is member of the PEN- club.She won several literary awards kept among others being the Culture Prize for Bibliography 1992 endowed by the Free State of Bavaria; the Honour Gift of Andreas Gryphius; and in 1996 the Kuenstlergilde endowed by the Federal Ministry of the Inside.

Educated at St. George\'s School in Rhode Island and, briefly, Harvard University. Started work writing advertising copy for Doubleday, Page Publishing, New York, in 1925. Published first book for children, The Cricket of Caradon in 1925. First published poem Spring Comes to Murray Hill appears in New Yorker magazine in 1930. Joins staff at New Yorker in 1932. Married Frances Rider Leonard on June 6, 1933. Published 19 books of poetry. Collaborated, in 1943, in the musical comedy, \"One Touch of Venus.\" Elected to the National Institute of Arts and Letters in 1950. Lived in New York but his principal home was in Baltimore, Maryland, where he died on May 19, 1971. He was buried in North Hampton, New Hampshire.

Thomas Moore (1779-1852) Irish poet, friend of Lord Byron and P.B. Shelley. Moore\'s writings range from lyric to satire, from prose romance to history and biography. Ion Brad (n. 8 noiembrie 1929, Pănade, județul Târnava-Mare) este un diplomat și scriitor român, exponent al realismului socialist. Primul intre cei noua copii ai taranului Traian Brad si ai Corneliei, nascuta Barna, originara din satul vecin Iclod. Casatorit cu Olimpia Alexandrina Suteu (1952). O fiica, Lia Brad-Chisacof (n.1955) Debutul absolut are loc în 1947 în revista Gând tineresc din Alba-Iulia, cu poezia Te-am visat. Debutează editorial cu volumul Cincisutistul în 1952. Nascut in Turda, jud. Cluj. Liceul Teoretic in Campia Turzii. Licentiat in teologie la sectia Teologie fundamentala si istoria religiilor, promotia 1976, Sibiu. Pseudonimul Glad Elian a fost fost ales in l980 pe cand eram ghid-muzeograf la Biserica monument istoric Voronet,jud.Suceava. In l987 am debutat cu acest pseudonim, intr-un volum comun (Alpha '87, al editurii Dacia, cu cateva poeme grupate sub titlul: Estuarele Noptii. Dupa revolutie am publicat in 1995, la editura Carminis, Pitesti, volumul de poezie: Zodia terna. Toate poemele scrise erau doar incercari lirice din timpul dictaturii. Am folosit acelasi pseudonim. Sub numele meu adevarat, in anul 2000 am publicat la editura Olimp, Bucuresti, volumul de eseuri intitulat Treptele Nedumeririi. In 2005 am publicat la editura Anastasia cartea: Sub privirile Sfintilor Zilei - Un calendar Ortodox comentat. In 2007 a aparut la editura Rentrop&Straton cartea: Libertate si Credinta.

Nathaniel Tarn (born 1928) is an American poet of Anglo French origin. Nathaniel Tarn was born in 1928 in Paris of a British father and a French mother with many links to the U.S.: the American side of the family were the Shuberts of Broadway (though he never met them). Tarn was brought up in France and Belgium and reached England a week before World War Two. He survived the Blitz, went up to Cambridge University early aged 18, studying History and English literature. He returned to France in 1948 to be a French poet, working in journalism and radio.
