MZMay Ziadeh
Née à Nazareth, le 11 Février 1886, de père libanais, May Ziadeh (ou Ziadah, Ziadé) fit ses études primaires et secondaires au Collège des Visitandines d'Antoura (Liban), puis rejoignit ses parents en 1904 à Nazareth où elle poursuivit passionnément son auto-culture. À partir de 1908, elle s'installa définitivement au Caire où son père Elias Ziadé (Originaire de Chahtoul près de Ghazir) dirigeait la revue "Al-Mahroussa" et se fit inscrire à l'Université Égyptienne dans la section littéraire. It is not known for certain the exact date of his birth, but since according to Spanish tradition the Christening was carried through very closely after the birth, there is no doubt that his birthday was in 1547. The actual date of the Christening was October 9th, 1547 at the city of Alcala de Henares. Since then, little is known of his childhood, other than he lived with his family in Valladolid, Madrid, and other Andalusian cities. He lived in Cuba as an exile from the Duvalier regime for many years and was a founder of the Casa de las Americas publishing house. He is best known for his poetry. Louis-Jacques-Napoléon “Aloysius” Bertrand (20 April 1807 – 29 April 1841) was a French poet instrumental in the introduction of the prose poem into French literature and is credited with inspiring later Symbolist poets [1]. He wrote a collection of poems entitled Gaspard de la nuit, after which composer Maurice Ravel wrote a suite of the same name, based on the poems "Scarbo", "Ondine", and "Le Gibet".
