Geboren 1875 als Sohn eines Pfarrers, studierte er Medizin in Basel, nachdem er Archäologie abgebrochen hatte. Seine Dissertation schrieb er über Psychologie und Pathologie so genannter okkulter Phänomene. Danach, im Wintersemester 1902/1903, arbeitete er bei Pierre Janet in Paris. 1903 heiratete er Emma Rauschenbach. Danach war er Volontärarzt bei Eugen Bleuler in der Heilanstalt Burghölzli. Hier machte er empirische Studien über die Schizophrenie und publizierte 1904 seine erste Arbeit (über Assoziations-Experimente). Ab 1905 war er Dozent für Psychiatrie an der Universität Zürich, gab aber 1909 seine Tätigkeit in Burghölzli wegen Zerwürfnissen mit Bleuler auf. Die erste Begegnung mit Freud fand 1907 statt. Fortan beschäftigte er sich mit Freuds Werk und Arbeit als Psychoanalytiker und wurde Redakteur des Internationalen Jahrbuch für psychologische und psychotherapeutische Forschung. Famed for -- and ultimately defined by -- his perennial \"American Pie,\" singer/songwriter Don McLean was born October 2, 1945, in New Rochelle, NY. After getting his start in the folk clubs of New York City during the mid-\'60s, McLean struggled for a number of years, building a small following through his work with Pete Seeger on the Clearwater, a sloop that sailed up and down the eastern seaboard to promote environmental causes. Still, McLean was primarily singing in elementary schools and the like when in 1970 he wrote a musical tribute to painter Vincent Van Gogh; the project was roundly rejected by a number of labels, although MediaArts did offer him a contract to record a number of his other songs under the title Tapestry. James Leigh Hunt was born on 19th October, 1784 in Southgate, Middlesex. His father, a clergyman, got into financial difficulties and ended up in a debtor's prison. As a young man, Hunt developed an interest in politics and poetry. Leigh Hunt became friends with other young writers who favoured political reform including Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Hazlitt, Henry Brougham, Lord Byron,Thomas Barnes and Charles Lamb.
