While in Prague he joined the protestant uprising in Bohemia, since he was a Calvinist, and he fought at The Battle of White Mountain (1) thus becoming a captain. René Depestre (born 29 August 1926) is a Haitian poet and communist. He lived in Cuba as an exile from the Duvalier regime for many years and was a founder of the Casa de las Americas publishing house. He is best known for his poetry. The city of Jacmel, his birthplace, is often evoked in his poetry and his novels, in particular Hadriana In All My Dreams (1988). He did his primary studies with the Breton Brothers of Christian Instruction. His father died in 1936 and Rene Depestre left his mother, his two brothers and his two sisters to go live with his maternal grandmother. From 1940 to 1944, he completed his secondary studies at the Pétion college in Port-au-Prince. Étincelles (Sparks), his first collection of poetry, appeared in 1945, prefaced by Edris Saint-Amand. James Leigh Hunt was born on 19th October, 1784 in Southgate, Middlesex. His father, a clergyman, got into financial difficulties and ended up in a debtor's prison. As a young man, Hunt developed an interest in politics and poetry. Leigh Hunt became friends with other young writers who favoured political reform including Percy Bysshe Shelley, William Hazlitt, Henry Brougham, Lord Byron,Thomas Barnes and Charles Lamb. Charles d'Orléans, né à Paris le 24 novembre 1394 et mort à Amboise le 5 janvier 1465, duc d'Orléans, est un prince français, connu surtout pour son œuvre poétique réalisée lors de sa longue captivité anglaise. Il est le fils de Louis Ier, duc d'Orléans, frère du roi de France Charles VI, et de Valentine Visconti fille du duc de Milan. Il est né à l'hôtel de Saint-Paul, à Paris. Paul-Jean Toulet, né à Pau (Basses-Pyrénées) le 5 juin 1867 et mort à Guéthary (Basses-Pyrénées) le 6 septembre 1920, est un écrivain et poète français, célèbre par ses Contrerimes, une forme poétique qu\'il avait créée.
