After earning a reputation as a fine guitarist in school bands like Emil and the Detectives, Richard had his first brush with ‘fame’ as a teenaged founding member of the 1960’s folk-rock pioneers, Fairport Convention. Playing an inventive musical mix of blues and California-style rock, the group was quickly dubbed “the new Jefferson Airplane”. The band’s founding members (Iain Matthews, Judy Dyble, Richard Thompson, Simon Nicol, Ashley Hutchings, Martin Lamble) were discovered playing in London’s Soho district, by American producer Joe Boyd. Boyd secured them a recording contract and their eponymous debut album was released in 1968. Shortly thereafter, the band’s lead vocalist, Judy Dyble, was replaced with the ethereal songstress, Sandy Denny. ( 1901 – 1944 ) One of the Finnish poets who brought a free verse style of writing poetry into the mainstream of Finnish literature. Her work is full of the ecstasy of life, longing for distant places, and a use of vocabulary glutted in color, into which are woven a general radical quality, which affects her late works especially. Nicanor Parra Sandoval (born in San Fabián de Alico, Chile on September 5, 1914) is a mathematician and poet often considered to be the most influential poet Chile has produced since Pablo Neruda.[citation needed] He describes himself as an "antipoet," due to his distaste for standard poetic pomp and function (after recitations he would exclaim Me retracto de todo lo dicho, or, "I take back everything I said"). Luis Cernuda (born Luis Cernuda Bidón September 21, 1902, Seville – November 5, 1963, Mexico City), was a Spanish poet and literary critic. The son of a military man, Cernuda received a strict education as a child, and then studied law at the University of Seville, where he met the poet and literature professor Pedro Salinas. In 1928, after his mother died, Cernuda left his hometown, with which he had all his life an intense love-hate relationship. He briefly moved to Madrid, where he quickly became part of the literary scene. However, his detached, timid and morose character, his search of perfection frequently made him lose friendships and popularity. (22 aprilie 1850 - 6 august 1889) Veronica Micle si Mihai Eminescu se nasc in 1850, si se sting amândoi in acelasi an, 1889. N-au fost casatoriti, dar dragostea lor a fost mare si adânca, dincolo de rautatile unor semeni care i-au dorit despartiti. "Ingerul blond" venise la Iasi, cu mama sa, din Nasaudul ardelean. Tatal primise doua gloante in piept (luptase sub steagul lui Avram Iancu). Fata minunata, Veronica termina excelent gimnaziul, in iunie 1863. La examen, asista rectorul Universitatii din Iasi, ardeleanul Stefan Micle. O cere in casatorie, desi e cu 30 de ani mai in vârsta decât Veronica (ea devine "doamna Micle" la 14 ani). Vor avea doua fete: Valeria si Virginia. Cunoscând-o la Viena (1872), pajul Cupidon a intins arcul si i-a sagetat pe amândoi. AGAlphonsus de Guimaraens
Alphonsus de Guimaraens (Ouro Preto MG, 1870 - Mariana MG, 1921) formou-se bacharel em Direito, em 1894, em Ouro Preto. Na época já colaborava nos jornais Diário Mercantil, Comércio de Săo Paulo, Correio Paulistano, O Estado de S. Paulo e A Gazeta. Em 1895 tornou-se promotor de Justiça em Conceiçăo do Serro MG e, a partir de 1906, Juiz em Mariana MG, de onde pouco sairia. Seu primeiro livro de poesia, Dona Mística, 1892/1894, foi publicado em 1899, ano em que também saiu o Setenário das Dores de Nossa Senhora.
