The Storm Comes
hurricanes, nature\'s fury

I watched as the rains fell,
heavy as an elephant’s walk
and the winds blew like
a thousand trumpets, howling
ever howling, wolflike in its
eerie sound
The trees bowed against their will
to unseen kings while the
rivers spilled over their banks
like a drunkard pouring more ale
Mesmerized by it all -
what else can you do but
sit and wait and watch
as nature’s fury comes
ashore to wipe the slate clean,
deserved or undeserved, it
matters not, for the hurricane
has her path and her own eye to see…
