she can’t mirror his feelings
in the dark, he wonders why
he feels so lost, empty inside,
its his turn now to cry
he thought she was his for life,
within his full control
his heart bleeds now, he’s lost his wife
she has ripped out his soul
all those years lost to abuse
a drink his only excuse
