The Calming
finding your inner strength

As the steam rises
she closes her eyes
slipping deeper into oblivion
submerged in thoughts of
days gone by
Emotions like gnarled, twisted trees,
turning her world upside down
And when the water surrounds her
the calming comes to her slowly,
deep breathing, candles lit,
music low, her chanting softly
For she reaches deep within herself
to find the light of day and as her
inner strength takes hold
she rises up anew…
