In collaboration with vocalist brother Russell, composer/keyboardist Ron Mael was the mastermind behind the skewed pop smarts and wiseguy wordplay of cult favorite Sparks. Born August 12, 1950, in Culver City, CA, Mael spent his childhood modeling young men\'s apparel for mail-order catalogues; while attending UCLA in 1970, he and Russell formed their first group, Halfnelson. Although Todd Rundgren produced the band\'s self-titled 1971 debut, their quirky, tongue-in-cheek art pop initially failed to find an audience. Robert Silverberg (born January 15, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY) is a prolific author best known for writing science fiction, a multiple winner of both the Hugo and Nebula Awards. Silverberg, a voracious reader from childhood on, began submitting stories to the science fiction magazines in his early teenage years. He attended Columbia University, receiving an A.B. in English Literature in 1956, but he kept writing science fiction. His first published novel, a children's book called Revolt on Alpha C appeared in 1955, and in the following year, he won his first Hugo, as "best new writer." For the next four years, by his own count, he wrote a million words a year, for magazines and Ace Doubles. Yosa Buson (1716-1783) a fost un poet japonez, situat printre cei mai mari autori de poeme haiku alaturi de Matsuo Basho si Kobayashi Issa. *** Yosa Buson: 1716 - December 25 1784), was a Japanese Haiku poet and painter, usually referred to simply as "Buson". He is one of the greatest poet of the Edo period, comparable with Matsuo Basho and Kobayashi Issa. He was born in Osaka, his real family name was Taniguchi. When he became 20 years old, he went to Edo and studied Haiku under Yahantei Soua. He named himself as Saicho. The master was gone when Buson was 27 years old, he stayed with Sunaoka Gando in Shimotuke. He had longing for Matsuo Basho, he began the long journeys like Basho, he went around Tohoku, Tango, Sanuki and so on. During this travel, he called himself Bushon. Elizabeth Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830 in the quiet community of Amherst, Massachusetts, the second daughter of Edward and Emily Norcross Dickinson. Emily, Austin (her older brother) and her younger sister Lavinia were nurtured in a quiet, reserved family headed by their authoritative father Edward. Throughout Emily’s life, her mother was not "emotionally accessible," the absence of which might have caused some of Emily’s eccentricity.
