The Peruvian poet and novelist Antonio Cisneros was born in Lima in 1942 where, from 1960 to 1964, he studied literature at the »Catholic University«. Later he undertook a PhD at the »San Marcos University«. He had already begun to publish his poems with much success in his first few years as a student. His volume of poetry »Destierro« came out in 1961 and is now regarded as among the classics of Latin-American lyric poetry. Early on he was still very much influenced by the Anglo-American beat-literature and inspired by its ironic gestures and its every-day sound. Later he turned more noticeably to political issues in order, so he emphasizes, to counteract the increasing political indifference in Latin-American society. The volume entitled »Comentarios reales de Antonio Cisneros« was aimed at the distortion of history by officials in his own country. born Feb. 11, 1869, Elberfeld, Ger. died Jan. 22, 1945, Jerusalem, Palestine Else Lasker-Schüler (February 11, 1869 – January 22, 1945) was a Jewish German poet and playwright (1869-1945) famous for her bohemian lifestyle in Berlin. She was one of the few women affiliated with the Expressionist movement. Lasker-Schüler fled Nazi Germany and lived out the rest of her life in Jerusalem Schüler was born in Elberfeld, now a district of Wuppertal. Her mother, Jeannette Schüler (née Kissing) was a central figure in her poetry, and the main character of her play Die Wupper was inspired by her father, Aaron Schüler, a Jewish banker. In 1894, Else married the physician and occasional chess player, Jonathan Berthold Lasker (the older brother of Emanuel Lasker, a World Chess Champion) and moved with him to Berlin, where she trained as an artist. Gutierre de Cetina (Sevilla, 1520 - México, 1557), poeta español del Renacimiento y del Siglo de Oro español De familia noble y acomodada, vivió largo tiempo en Italia, donde fue soldado a las órdenes de Carlos I. Yevgeny Yevtushenko Best known poet of the post-Stalin generation of Russian poets, Yevtushenko\'s early poems show the influence of Mayakovsky and loyalty to communism, but with such works as The Third Snow (1955) Yevtushenko become a spokesman for the young post-Stalin generation and travelled abroad widely throughout the Khrushchev and the Brezhnev periods. Yevtushenko was born in Zima in Irkutsk (July 18, 1933) as a fourth-generation descendant of Ukrainians exiled to Siberia. He moved to Moscow in 1944, where he studied at the Gorky Institute of Literature from 1951 to 1954. In 1948 he accompanied his father on geological expeditions to Kazakhstan and to Altai in 1950. His first important narrative poem Zima Junction was published in 1956 but gained international fame in 1961 with Babi Yar, in which he denounced Nazi and Russian anti-Semitism. Olly Komenda Soentgerath was born as German in Prague. She studied Germanistik and History at the Karl University. First poems appeared in the \"Prager day sheet\". In the Federal Republic of Germany she published so far ten poem volumes and a Prosaband. Seifert translated her poems into Czech and published them in three volumes in Prague two years before she received the 1984 Nobelprize. The poems of Olly Komenda Soentgerath were published in numerous anthologies, newspapers and magazines. They were toned and translated into several languages - the authoress is member of the PEN- club.She won several literary awards kept among others being the Culture Prize for Bibliography 1992 endowed by the Free State of Bavaria; the Honour Gift of Andreas Gryphius; and in 1996 the Kuenstlergilde endowed by the Federal Ministry of the Inside.

Louis-Jacques-Napoléon “Aloysius” Bertrand (20 April 1807 – 29 April 1841) was a French poet instrumental in the introduction of the prose poem into French literature and is credited with inspiring later Symbolist poets [1]. He wrote a collection of poems entitled Gaspard de la nuit, after which composer Maurice Ravel wrote a suite of the same name, based on the poems "Scarbo", "Ondine", and "Le Gibet". Bertrand was born in Ceva, Piedmont, Italy (then a part of Napoleonic France) and his family settled in Dijon in 1814. There he developed an interest in the Burgundian capital. His contributions to a local paper lead to recognition by Victor Hugo and Sainte-Beuve. He lived in Paris shortly with little success. He returned to Dijon and continued writing for local newspapers.
