Olly Komenda Soentgerath
Olly Komenda Soentgerath was born as German in Prague. She studied Germanistik and History at the Karl University. First poems appeared in the \"Prager day sheet\". In the Federal Republic of Germany she published so far ten poem volumes and a Prosaband. Seifert translated her poems into Czech and published them in three volumes in Prague two years before she received the 1984 Nobelprize. The poems of Olly Komenda Soentgerath were published in numerous anthologies, newspapers and magazines. They were toned and translated into several languages - the authoress is member of the PEN- club.She won several literary awards kept among others being the Culture Prize for Bibliography 1992 endowed by the Free State of Bavaria; the Honour Gift of Andreas Gryphius; and in 1996 the Kuenstlergilde endowed by the Federal Ministry of the Inside.

Roger Woddis, poet: born London 17 May 1917; married Joan Hobson (one son, one daughter; marriage dissolved); died London 16 July 1993. Roger Woddis was a writer and humorous poet. One of his most famous poems, Ethics for Everyman, deals with double-morality of ethical principles. His early writing career included some involvement with Unity Theatre, London, where he contributed material to a number of revues. His poetry featured regularly in Radio Times and other periodicals in the 1970s. During much of the 1980s and early '90s, he had his own weekly poem in the humour magazine Punch: titled "Subverse". This consisted each week of a humorously subversive political poem, often dealing with recent events. Robert Browning
Robert Browning was born on May 7, 1812 in Camberwell, which is south of London. His birthday falls within a couple of months of the births of Dickens and Thackeray. He was the eldest of 2 children, born to Robert and Sarah Anna Browning. His father was a bank clerk. He attended London University for a short while in 1828, but received most of his education by readinghis from his father\'s library. His first poem, Pauline, was published when he was 21. It was soon followed by Paracelsus (1835) and Sordello (1840). Cecília Benevides de Carvalho Meireles (1901-1964, Rio de Janeiro) was a Brazilian writer and educator, known principally as a poet. She is a canonical name of Brazilian Modernism, one of the great female poets in the Portuguese language, and is widely considered the best poetess from Brazil, though she rightly combatted the word "poetess" because of gender discrimination. She traveled in the Americas in the 1940s, on one trip visiting the U.S.A, Mexico, and on others Argentina and Uruguay, and Chile. In the summer of 1940 she gave lectures at the University of Texas, Austin. Mircea Ivănescu (n. 26 martie 1931) este un scriitor, poet, eseist și traducător român contemporan. A absolvit în 1954 Facultatea de Filologie (secția franceză) a Universității din București. SHSelima Hill
Poet Selima Hill was born on 13 October 1945 in London, England and grew up in rural England and Wales. She read Moral Sciences at New Hall, Cambridge (1965-7). She regularly collaborates with artists and has worked on multimedia projects with the Royal Ballet, Welsh National Opera and BBC Bristol. She is a tutor at the Poetry School in London, and has taught creative writing in hospitals and prisons. Selima Hill won first prize in the 1988 Arvon Foundation/Observer International Poetry Competition for her long poem The Accumulation of Small Acts of Kindness, and her 1997 collection, Violet, was shortlisted for the Forward Poetry Prize (Best Poetry Collection of the Year), the T. S. Eliot Prize and the Whitbread Poetry Award. Her book of poetry, Bunny (2001), a series of poems about a young girl growing up in the 1950s, won the Whitbread Poetry Award. Selima Hill lives in Dorset. Her most recent book of poetry is The Hat (2008).

ZRZilot Românul
Zilot Românul (pseudonimul lui Ștefan Ioan Fănuță) (n. ~ 27 decembrie 1787, București - d. 12 noiembrie 1853, București) a fost un jurist, poet și cronicar român. A scris istorii în versuri și în proză ale Țării Românești din timpul lui Constantin Hangerli (1796) până la Răscoala lui Tudor din 1821. Prima parte, intitulată „Domnia lui Constandin vodă Hangerliul” a terminat-o în 1800, la o „copilărească vârstă”. Alte lucrări mai de seamă ale sale au fost o cronică în versuri despre „Anul 1848” și un poem alegoric numit „Dăslușire”. Crezul său ca istoric și l-a exprimat într-o poezie celebră, intitulată chiar „Definiția istoricului”: „ Istoric sunt, n-am frate, N-am rudă, n-am vecin: Stăpân am p-adevărul, Lui cată să mă-nchin! ” Cronicile sale au fost publicate întâi de B. P. Hasdeu (1884), apoi de Gr. Tocilescu (1885 - 1891) și de G. T. Kirileanu (1942).
