S-a născut la Barcellona (Messina) la 6 iulie 1922. A urmat studii de drept fără a-și exercita vreodată profesia, dar menținându-se tot la fel de distant față de orice ambianță literară. A călătorit în Europa și Africa, rămânând însă totdeauna fidel peisajului messinian. Debutează editorial cu placheta Nel centro della mano (1951), după care au urmat: Partenza da Greenwich (1954); Le mosche del meriggio (1959); Qualcosa di preciso (1961); L\'osso, l\'anima (1964); L\'aria secca del fuoco (1972); La discesa al trono (1975); Marzo e le sue Idi (1977); L\'allodola ottobrina (1979). A murit la Milano la 13 martie 1979. Acest poet ce „se preface pentru a supravieții printre morții trufași/mai mult mort decât viu”, a învățat bine lecția poeziei metafizice montaliene și a depășit-o; în fragmentarea impresiilor desprinse din pânza realului el țese cu o lentă plictiseală tragică câteva pete, câteva „dâre” ale propriei existențe ce se colorează brusc în roșu și dau strania senzație că extincția...

George Gregorian (pseudonim al lui George Ionescu Bruciu; 23 martie 1886, Sinaia, județul Prahova - 24 noiembrie 1962, București) este un poet. Fiu al lui Grigore Negrea Bruciu, profesor, Gregorian face parțial studiile liceale la Brăila și își va da foarte târziu bacalaureatul. S-a înscris la Facultatea de Litere a Universității bucureștene, dar nu a absolvit-o. În 1910 a debutat cu versuri la „Convorbiri critice". A colaborat tot cu versuri și, sporadic, cu articole diverse la „Flacăra", „Rampa", „Contimporanul", „Mișcarea literară", „Calendarul", „Porunca vremii", „Universul" etc. O vreme a fost director la „Gazeta refugiaților" (1940-1942) și la „Rampa teatrală și cinematografică" (1941-1944). A mai folosit pseudonimele George Anonimu, Ionescu-Brăila, Ionescu-Filaret. Marceline Desbordes-Valmore (June 20, 1786 - July 23, 1859) was a French poet. She was born in Douai. Following the French Revolution, her family emigrated to Guadeloupe. In 1817 she married her second husband, the actor Prosper Lanchantin-Valmore. She published Élégies et Romances, her first poetic work, in 1819. Her melancholy, elegiacal poems are admired for their grace and profound emotion. Marceline appeared as an actress and singer in Douai, Rouen, the Opéra-Comique in Paris, and the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, where she notably played Rosine in Beaumarchais's Le Barbier de Séville. She retired from the stage in 1823. Louis-Jacques-Napoléon “Aloysius” Bertrand (20 April 1807 – 29 April 1841) was a French poet instrumental in the introduction of the prose poem into French literature and is credited with inspiring later Symbolist poets [1]. He wrote a collection of poems entitled Gaspard de la nuit, after which composer Maurice Ravel wrote a suite of the same name, based on the poems "Scarbo", "Ondine", and "Le Gibet". Bertrand was born in Ceva, Piedmont, Italy (then a part of Napoleonic France) and his family settled in Dijon in 1814. There he developed an interest in the Burgundian capital. Olly Komenda Soentgerath was born as German in Prague. She studied Germanistik and History at the Karl University. First poems appeared in the \"Prager day sheet\". In the Federal Republic of Germany she published so far ten poem volumes and a Prosaband. Seifert translated her poems into Czech and published them in three volumes in Prague two years before she received the 1984 Nobelprize.
