The Peruvian poet and novelist Antonio Cisneros was born in Lima in 1942 where, from 1960 to 1964, he studied literature at the »Catholic University«. Later he undertook a PhD at the »San Marcos University«. He had already begun to publish his poems with much success in his first few years as a student. His volume of poetry »Destierro« came out in 1961 and is now regarded as among the classics of Latin-American lyric poetry. Early on he was still very much influenced by the Anglo-American beat-literature and inspired by its ironic gestures and its every-day sound. Later he turned more noticeably to political issues in order, so he emphasizes, to counteract the increasing political indifference in Latin-American society. The volume entitled »Comentarios reales de Antonio Cisneros« was aimed at the distortion of history by officials in his own country. Carlos Castaneda (25 December 1925 – 27 April 1998) was a Peruvian-born American anthropologist and author. Starting with The Teachings of Don Juan in 1968, Castaneda wrote a series of books that describe his purported training in traditional Mesoamerican shamanism. His 12 books have sold more than 8 million copies in 17 languages. The books and Castaneda, who rarely spoke in public about his work, have been controversial for many years. Supporters claim the books are either true or at least valuable works of philosophy and descriptions of practices which enable an increased awareness. S-a născut la Perugia la 12 iunie 1906. Studii neregulate în orașul natal, absolvind o școală de contabili. Duce o viață boemă, practicând diverse profesii numai spre a-și menține autonomia spirituală. După ce, pentru un timp, este vânzător într-o librărie milaneză, din 1929 se mută la Roma. Colaborează la diferite reviste („Letteratura”, „Corrente”, „Frontespizio”, „Poesia”, „Botteghe oscure”, „Paragone” etc.) și publică primul volum (Poesie) în 1939 sub îndemnul lui Saba. Critici precum Solmi, Anceschi, Caretti îi semnalează originalitatea. Anvari (1126–1189), full name Awhad ad-Din 'Ali ibn Mohammad Khavarani or Awhad ad-Din 'Ali ibn Mahmud was one of the greatest Persian poets. He was born in Abivard of (now in Turkmenistan) and died in Khurasanian Balkh, now in Afghanistan, and studied science and literature at the collegiate institute in Tun (now Firdaus, Iran), becoming a famous astronomer as well as a poet. Anvari's poems were collected in a Deewan, and contains panegyrics, eulogies, satire, and others. His elegy "Tears of Khorasan", translated into English in 1789, is considered to be one of the most beautiful poems in Persian literature. The Cambridge History of Iran calls Anvari "one of the greatest figures in Persian literature". Despite their beauty, his poems often required much help with interpretation, as they were often complex and difficult to understand. M-am născut la Bacău, în 28.01.1989. La vârsta de opt ani am plecat în Italia, împreuna cu părinții mei. Acum am paisprezece ani, locuiesc în Sansepolcro și sunt elev în anul II (clasa a VII-a) la școala “Buonarroti” din localitate. Sunt, de asemenea, elev în anul III la Conservatorul din Perugia (clasele de vioară și pian). Îmi place mult să joc șah, să desenez, să scriu și să citesc. În 2002 am început să public scrierile mele în site-uri literare italiene și românești (printre care www.liberodiscrivere.it și www.poezie.ro) și, spre sfârșitul anului, să particip la unele concursuri literare, în Italia, obținând câteva premii (Premiul I la Concursul Național de Literatură “L’arcobaleno della vita”, Premiul II la Concursul Național de Poezie “Natale”, Premiul “Della Fratellanza” la Concursul International de Poezie “Il saggio”, alte premii și semnalări).
