AHAnne Hébert
Anne Hébert, August 1, 1916- January 22, 2000) of Sainte-Catherine-de-Fossambault, Quebec was a Canadian author and poet. Hébert's "Les Songes en Éguilabre", 1942, was her first collection of poems published. Hébert was affiliated with Canada's first film bureau. She worked for Radio Canada, Film Board of Canada and National Film Board of Canada during the 1950s. Hébert was a cousin of Hector de Saint-Denys Garneau. Hébert moved to Paris in the mid 1950s. She returned to Canada in the 1990s. Her last novel "Un Habit de lumière" was published in 1998. Renée Vivien, born Pauline Mary Tarn (11 June 1877 - 18 November 1909) was a British poet who wrote in the French language.[1][2] She took to heart all the mannerisms of Symbolism, as one of the last poets to claim allegiance to the school. Her compositions include sonnets, hendecasyllabic verse, and prose poetry. Vivien was born in London, England to a wealthy British father and an American mother from Jackson, Michigan. She grew up in Paris and London. Upon inheriting her father's fortune at 21, she emigrated permanently to France. In Paris, Vivien's dress and lifestyle were as notorious among the bohemian set as was her verse. She lived lavishly, as an open lesbian, and carried on a well-known affair with American heiress and writer Natalie Clifford Barney. Adelbert von Chamisso (January 30, 1781 – August 21, 1838) was a German poet and botanist. He was born Louis Charles Adélaïde de Chamissot at the château of Boncourt in Champagne, France, the ancestral seat of his family. Driven out by the French Revolution, his parents settled in Berlin, where in 1796 young Chamisso obtained the post of page-in-waiting to the queen, and in 1798 entered a Prussian infantry regiment as ensign. His family was shortly thereafter permitted to return to France; he remained in Germany and continued his military career. Augusto Monterroso Bonilla (December 21, 1921 - February 7, 2003) was a Guatemalan writer. Monterroso was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to a Honduran mother and Guatemalan father. In 1936 his family settled definitively in Guatemala City, where he would remain until early adulthood. Here he published his first short stories and began his clandestine work against the dictatorship of Jorge Ubico. To this end he founded the newspaper El Espectador with a group of other writers. He was detained and exiled to Mexico City in 1944 for his opposition to the dictatorial regime. Shortly after his arrival in Mexico, the revolutionary government of Jacobo Arbenz triumphed in Guatemala, and Monterroso was assigned to a minor post in the Guatemalan embassy in Mexico. Miroslav "Mika" Antiæ (March 14, 1932 – June 24, 1986) was a Serbian poet, journalist and painter. Antiæ was born in Mokrin, Vojvodina, Serbia (then Yugoslavia). He wrote poems, articles, dramas, movie and TV scripts and documentaries. Mika also acted in several movies, and was an amateur painter. His best known poem is "Srem", in which he mourns for dead in World War II and describes the beauty of Srem using "beæarac" song form. He is well known as a bohemian. Mika Antiæ is best known as a children and youth poet, a master of delicate and gentle sentiments.
