Jean Chevalier (1906-1993) was a university lecturer in philosophy and theology before working for UNESCO, where he was Director of Relations for Member States. He left in 1964 to devote himself to writing and research. Stephen Crane (1871-1900), American author, whose second novel, The Red Badge Of Courage (1895), brought him international fame. The Red Badge of Courage depicted the American Civil War from the point of view of an ordinary soldier. It has been called the first modern war novel. Crane was born in Newark, New Jersey, on November1, 1871, as the 14th child of a Methodist minister. He started to write stories at the age of eight and at 16 he was writing articles for the New York Tribune. Crane studied at Lafayette College and Syracuse University. After his mother's death in 1890 - his father had died earlier - Crane moved to New York, where he lived a bohemian life, and worked as a free-lance writer and journalist. Robert Silverberg (born January 15, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY) is a prolific author best known for writing science fiction, a multiple winner of both the Hugo and Nebula Awards. Silverberg, a voracious reader from childhood on, began submitting stories to the science fiction magazines in his early teenage years. He attended Columbia University, receiving an A.B. in English Literature in 1956, but he kept writing science fiction. His first published novel, a children's book called Revolt on Alpha C appeared in 1955, and in the following year, he won his first Hugo, as "best new writer." Inca nu am. Ma multzumesc sa traiesc, din cand in cand. În ce privește ce am apucat să fac până acum, pot să declar (dacă trebuie...) că după executarea perioadei de detenție liceală, am recidivat și am absolvit Facultatea de Drept (Universitatea Româno-Americană) și Facultatea de Istorie (Universitatea București), în ani diferiți (recte, 2001 și 2002). Între 2003 și 2008 am căutat să îmi umplu timpul cu câteva burse: Erasmus (Paris, 2003), EFA (Atena, 2005 și 2006), IFPO (Damasc,2006 și 2007), Getty Library Research Grant (Los Angeles, 2007), MEN (Paris, 2008). În prezent, sunt doctorand al Universității București în cotutelă cu Paris IV - Sorbonne. Cât privește viitorul, ține de contingenții lui Aristotel, unde nu îndrăznesc să îmi bag nasul.

Nathaniel Tarn (born 1928) is an American poet of Anglo French origin. Nathaniel Tarn was born in 1928 in Paris of a British father and a French mother with many links to the U.S.: the American side of the family were the Shuberts of Broadway (though he never met them). Tarn was brought up in France and Belgium and reached England a week before World War Two.
