Al Zolynas was born in Austria of Lithuanian parents in 1945, and grew up in Sydney, Australia and Chicago, Illinois. He holds a PhD. in Creative Writing and Enlish from the University of Utah and was a Fulbright-Hays Fellow in India. Zolynas has worked as a kitchen helper, lifeguard, factory worker, cab driver, road construction worker, poetry editor, and resident poet in the schools, and currently teaches writing and literature at the United States International University in San Diego. He is also a longtime Zen student. He and his wife reside in Escondido, California. Zolynas is the author of books including The New Physics (Wesleyan University Press, 1979) and Under Ideal Conditions (Laterthanever Press, 1994; San Diego Book Award, Best Poetry, 1994 ), and editor of Men Of Our Time: An Anthology of Male Poetry in Contemporary America (with Fred Moramarco; University of Georgia Press, 1992). Naim Araidi was born in 1950, in the Druze village of Marrar in the Galilee. He went to Hebrew school in Haifa, and continued to a PhD in Hebrew Literature. He teaches in Haifa and has published numerous books of poetry and prose both Arabic and Hebrew. He has been awarded the Prime Minister's Award; The Creativity Prize for Arabic Literature; and an honorary PhD from the World Academy for Arts and Culture. Adam Zagajewski (b. 21 June 1945 in Lwów, Soviet Union (now Lviv, Ukraine)) is a Polish poet, novelist, and essayist. Subsequently lyrical on meta-physical and cultural problems. Greg Alan Brownderville, a native of Pumpkin Bend, Arkansas, is the author of one collection of poems, Gust (Northwestern University Press, 2011). He has received a Porter Fund poetry prize, a Tennessee Williams scholarship from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, a Voice-Only Poetry prize from The Missouri Review and the University of Nebraska’s Jane Geske Award, among other accolades. His work is published regularly in periodicals such as Prairie Schooner, the Oxford American and Gravy. He earned an MFA in poetry at the University of Mississippi in 2008, and he currently teaches creative writing at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.
