Günter Grass (n. 16 octombrie 1927, Danzig, - acum Gdañsk, Polonia) este un poet, nuvelist, dramaturg, sculptor, romancier și grafician german, laureat al Premiului Nobel pentru Literatură în anul 1999. Günter Grass s-a născut în orașul Danzig - acum Gdañsk, Polonia). Este fiul lui Willy Grass (1899-1979), un etnic german protestant, și al Helenei Grass (1898-1954), o femeie romano-catolică de origine poloneză. Günter Grass a fost crescut în conformitate cu religia catolică. Günter Grass are o soră care s-a născut în 1930. Günter Grass a urmat gimnaziul Conradinum în Danzig. Scriitoarea Chang Shiang Hua este licențiată a Universității Naționale Normale din Taipei. A funcționat aproape două decenii în învățământ, apoi a fost redactor executiv al publicației \"Grassroots\" și redactor responsabil pentru poezie al revistei \"Steaua literară\". A lucrat pentru \"Amnesty International\", la Taipei. Taneda Santōka, birth name: Taneda Shōichi; 3 December 1882 - 11 October 1940) was the pen-name of a Japanese author and haiku poet. He is known for his free verse haiku. Santoka, an ordained Zen priest, after spending most of his life wandering all over the country as a begging monk, chose to settle in Matsuyama only to die 10 months later. The humble cottage where he dwelt -- Isso-an (A Blade of Grass Hermitage) is preserved north of Ehime University. His books and documents are also preserved in Shiki Memorial Museum.
