Anne Sexton was born Anne Gray Harvey in Newton, Massachusetts to Mary Gray Staples and Ralph Harvey. She spent most of her childhood in Boston. Am locuit in Ardeal de unde am invatat dragostea de traditie si de locul strabunilor. M-am mutat in Marea Britanie unde mi-am inceput cariera de medic. A scrie e ca si cum ai vorbi cu un prieten imaginar si i-ai arata ce vezi tu. E un vis mai mult sau mai putin real caruia ii dai aripi si il trimiti in lume. Si daca macar un om din cei care il citesc inteleg limbajul, atunci scopul a fost atins. Traim prin tot ceea ce ne inconjoara, dar visam cel mai frumos prin scris.

Luis Hernández (1941-1977), considerado uno de los mayores poetas de su generación, llegó a publicar en vida solo un trío de breves poemarios a principios de la década de 1960. A partir de 1965 optó por un sistema de creación marginal que consistía en crear cuadernos artesanalmente, con variados y cuidadosos recursos gráficos, e ir regalándolos desaprensivamente, cual muestras de un arte efímero que no condescendía a la edición ni siquiera a la lectura. El poeta no guardaba copia de estos cuadernos, que solían repetirse parcialmente y no siempre poseían una estructura. Esta actitud ante la creación, al lado de diversos elementos llamativos de su vida personal, consiguieron para el poeta una rápida y no deseada mitificación.
