The Leviathans were so overladed
carrying portent-times
time and again
--Unleash them wild
but fend to know them near,
in sleepless mesmerism
amain they’ll haul you
if you take them in the rear.
With the unaided eye
he drained my fear
only to rope me later down
his mouth mythologized me near
a panegyric love until the end of times.
But when my torch sped
into his under-skin zenith
submerging
farther away
mid-heavenly
screaming --
Throw a life-boat!
My soul for a life-boat!
-- he swamped me by the tears
tossing his toils
to swash me against
a view across all sight.
The leviathan souls levitate
above Lethe’s forgone alluvia.
