Shadow of shadows,
walking sorrow
with a trail of tears
drowning your steps -
lonely old man,
hated and feared,
whom time obeys and -
all secrets lift their veils -
black panther waiting to strike,
watching my every move –
patiently,
certain of his prey –
eventually -
Saviour, your gentle hands
break earthen chains and
prison gates open wide,
while softly rings your melody
of splendour unknown,
waiting for those
who will follow you -
Angel of peace,
when you show your face
to me, I will take your hand,
and with my last breath
shall call you friend
