Nightly dance

Fluffy pillows over my head,

a bed made ready for the night,

someone opens a sleepy eye

to let the sun pour through –

a last good bye

before darkness falls as rusty rain

and night throws a tub of paint

as black as coal

onto the waiting land,

impenetrable veil

that covers what is right

and hides some things forbidden

then this town awakes anew

for its nightly letting go

of all stress and sorrow

and inhibitions, too
