love lost

My scattered thoughts bring forth
memories of happier times
times when you were with me
every day not just on an occasional whim
My mind’s eye sees your face
and recognizes the far away look
You so often had
- of one who must wander
Even as they say all who wander are not lost
you are lost to me forever
and for this I weep…
