A Revery in the Night

Silence falls from my thoughts..
How easy it could be!
to let your hand rest upon my breast,
to whisper late dreams to your eyes,
to play shadows on your lips with ghostly taste..
to feel the snowflakes sparkle in your trembling body
and then to embrace our fellings in icely bells.
But the earth is cold..is cruel..
How could I?
