Tears of Truth and Sorrow

There is such sadness in her eyes,
and so much sorrow when she sighs
under the burden of despair.
And so unfair for one so fair
to have and lose when none dares care
for more than fear and cruel lies.
And what is truth if not attempt
to self-deception and contempt
of other versions we hold false?
We’re so afraid of nature’s calls
and so astute when our goals
become too tarnished and unkempt...
