You hear them in the light
When daydreams feed our yearning souls.
You hear them in the night
When darkness from the shadows crawls.
They smash against us with unbearable strength
And keep our weary minds awake.
They leave us longing for the length
Of the too short hours before daybreak.
Your murmur is louder than a shout.
And in your voice I hear grace...
