Poet american și publicist, James Laughlin s-a născut in 1914 în Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Personalitatea sa poetică s-a dezvoltat sub influența lui Ezra Pound și a lui William Carlos Williams. James Laughlin a publicat primele poezii în culegeri la editura pe care a fondat-o, "New Directions". William Carlos Williams
He was born in Rutherford, New Jersey, a town near the city of Paterson. He attended public school in Rutherford, New Jersey until 1897, then was sent to study at Château de Lancy near Geneva, Switzerland, the Lycée Condorcet in Paris, France, for two years and Horace Mann High School in New York City. Then, in 1902, he entered the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. During his time at Penn, Williams befriended Ezra Pound, Hilda Doolittle (H.D.) and the painter Charles Demuth. These friendships supported his growing passion for poetry. He received his M.D. in 1906 and spent the next four years in internships in New York City and in travel and postgraduate studies abroad (e.g., at the Univ. of Leipzig where he studied pediatrics). He returned to Rutherford in 1910 and began his medical practice, which lasted until 1951. CPClément Pansaers
Clément Pansaers (1 mai 1885, Neerwinden - 31 octombrie 1922, Bruxelles) a fost principalul reprezentant al dadaismului în Belgia. A început să scrie poezii în 1916 după ce a abandonat cariera sa de egiptologist. Împreună cu câțiva avangardiști din Bruxelles, a fondat revista Résurrection, ce a publicat texte timpurii de Carl Einstein, Pierre Jean Jouve, Franz Werfel ș.a. Prima sa carte cu adevărat "dadaistă" este "Pan-Pan au Cul du Nu Nègre", publicat în 1920. Împreună cu cartea "Bar Nicanor" (1921), a fost citit și apreciat de scriitori precum James Joyce, Ezra Pound, Theo Van Doesburg, Francis Picabia sau André Breton. Pansaers s-a mutat la Paris în 1921, unde s-a implicat în mișcarea dada până ce a murit timpuriu din cauza bolii lui Hodgkin. Yĕhudah Ha-Levi
Yĕhudah Ha-Levi nació en Tudela, actual Comunidad de Navarra en 1070. Es sin duda el máximo exponente de la poesía hebrea peninsular medieval. Tras dejar en su juventud su ciudad natal, cuna también de otros escritores ilustres, como el viajero Benjamín de Tudela y el filósofo Abraham Ibn Ezra, se estableció en las tierras musulmanas de Al Andalus, recibiendo allí una esmerada formación tanto en ciencias y medicina, como en leyes, teología y poética. Tuvo estrechas relaciones con los mejores poetas judíos y árabes de su época, gozando en vida de una fama extraordinaria. Tocó temas amorosos y báquicos, cantó a la amistad, lloró por la muerte de los seres queridos, reflexionó sobre asuntos muy humanos, ensalzó a Dios y trató de consolar a su pueblo en el exilio. Al final de su vida, dejó Sefarad y embarcó hacia Israel, deseando pasar sus últimos días en la añorada tierra de sus antepasados por él tan amada. Falleció en 1141.

HPHalina Poswiatowska
Halina Poswiatowska, de son nom de jeune fille Myga, est née le 9 juillet 1935 à Czéstochowa, non loin de Cracovie. En 1958 elle débute avec un premier recueil de vers intitulé Hymne idolâtre. Cette année-là elle subit sa première opération du coeur. Elle publie encore deux recueils de poèmes, Le jour d\'aujourd\'hui, en 1963, et Ode aux mains, en 1966, ainsi qu\'un tome de prose, Récit pour un ami, en 1967. Halina Poswiatowska est morte le 11 octobre 1967, quelques jours après une deuxième opération du coeur. Un recueil de vers posthume est paru en 1968, intitulé Encore un sowyenir, en 1975, les Editions Littéraires de Cracovie (WydawnictWo Literackie) publient un Choix de poèmes qu\'elles rééditent en 1989. Puis en 1997-98, paraissent à Cracovie, chez le même éditeur Les oeuvres complètes en trois volumes. Joyce was born in Dublin, where his father was a rates collector. He was educated at a Jesuit school and University College, Dublin where he studied philosophy and language. When he was still an undergraduate, in 1900, his long review of Ibsen’s last play was published in the Fortnightly Review. At this time he also began writing his poems which were later collected in Chamber Music, published in 1907. In 1902 Joyce left Dublin for Paris, but returned the following year as his mother was dying. From 1904 he lived with Nora Barnacle, whom he married in 1931 (the year his father died), a son was born in 1905, and a daughter in 1918.
