HGHector de Saint-Denys Garneau
(Montréal, 1912 - Sainte-Catherine-de-Fossambault, 1943) Poète, Saint-Denys Garneau est l'arrière-petit-fils de François-Xavier Garneau. Il passe son enfance au manoir familial de Juchereau-Duchesnay (Port-neuf), puis à Montréal où sa famille s'installe en 1923. Il fréquente le Collège Sainte-Marie (1923), le Collège Loyola (1924) et le Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf (1924), et il étudie également la peinture au Collège des beaux-arts de Montréal. Dès 1927, il publie des articles sur l'art et des poèmes dans la Revue scientifique et artistique. En 1934, il abandonne ses études pour des raisons de santé. JLJean Laugier
Poète et dramaturge, né en 1924 à Saïgon. En 1927, une tragédie familiale le rend orphelin de père et mère. Sa vie et son oeuvre seront profondément marquées par ce drame. Le premier poème que garda Laugier, fut écrit et dit en public en 1942. Dédié à la mémoire de sa mère, il ne le publiera qu\'en 1978 dans Rituel pour une ode, Prix Apollinaire en 1979. La même année 1942, après avoir écrit, joué et mis en scène sa première pièce, entre alors au Centre du spectacle où il se perfectionnera en art dramatique. Gershom Scholem (December 5, 1897 – February 21, 1982), also known as Gerhard Scholem, was a Jewish philosopher and historian raised in Germany. He is widely regarded as the founder of the modern, academic study of Kabbalah, becoming the first Professor of Jewish Mysticism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Philip Arthur Larkin, CH, CBE, FRSL (9 August 1922 – 2 December 1985) is commonly regarded as one of the greatest English poets of the latter half of the twentieth century. The Peruvian poet and novelist Antonio Cisneros was born in Lima in 1942 where, from 1960 to 1964, he studied literature at the »Catholic University«. Later he undertook a PhD at the »San Marcos University«. He had already begun to publish his poems with much success in his first few years as a student.
