S-a născut la Manchester, New Hempshire, S.U.A., în anul 1905. Gazetar, colaborator la Radio-Canada, președinte al Academiei canadiene-franceze și al Academiei Ronsard. A deținut posturi de seamă, printre care acela de ambasador în Argentina. Poezia lui este un manifest adresat tinerelor generații de a se inspira din natura și peisajul canadian, pe care să le cânte în versuri tonice, virile. Robert Guy Choquette, CC, GOQ (April 22, 1905 – January 22, 1991) was a Canadian novelist, poet and diplomat. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, his family moved to Montreal in 1914. In 1968, he was appointed Canada's ambassador to Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. He served until 1970.[1] In 1968, he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada. In 1989, he was made a Grand Officer of the National Order of Quebec.

William Carlos Williams
He was born in Rutherford, New Jersey, a town near the city of Paterson. He attended public school in Rutherford, New Jersey until 1897, then was sent to study at Château de Lancy near Geneva, Switzerland, the Lycée Condorcet in Paris, France, for two years and Horace Mann High School in New York City. Then, in 1902, he entered the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. During his time at Penn, Williams befriended Ezra Pound, Hilda Doolittle (H.D.) and the painter Charles Demuth. These friendships supported his growing passion for poetry. He received his M.D. in 1906 and spent the next four years in internships in New York City and in travel and postgraduate studies abroad (e.g., at the Univ. of Leipzig where he studied pediatrics). He returned to Rutherford in 1910 and began his medical practice, which lasted until 1951. Irwin Allen Ginsberg (3 iunie 1926, Paterson, New Jersey - 5 aprilie 1997) a fost un poet american postbelic, aparținând așa numitei generații beat. Este cunoscut pentru celebrul poem postmodern Howl. Și-a manifestat deschis dezaprobarea față de Războiul din Vietnam. Louis Joseph Vance was born on September 19, 1879 in New York, New York (although some sources say Washington, DC). He was an American fiction writer of short stories, novels and screenplays. Vance was the son of Wilson and Lillie Beall Vance. Originally, Vance wanted to become an artist and illustrator and attended the Art Students League and Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. Vance married Nance Elizabeth Hodges in 1898. They had one son, Wilson Beall Vance who was born the following year. Poet Fleur Adcock was born in Auckland, New Zealand, on 10 February 1934, but spent much of her childhood, including the war years, in England. She studied Classics at Victoria University in Wellington and taught at the University of Otago, moving to London in 1963 where she worked as a librarian at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She has held various literary fellowships, including a period at the Charlotte Mason College of Education, Ambleside (1977-78). Later she held the Northern Arts Fellowship at the Universities of Newcastle upon Tyne and Durham (1979-81), where she met the composer Gillian Whitehead with whom she collaborated on a song cycle libretto and later a full-length opera about Eleanor of Aquitaine.
