In collaboration with vocalist brother Russell, composer/keyboardist Ron Mael was the mastermind behind the skewed pop smarts and wiseguy wordplay of cult favorite Sparks. Born August 12, 1950, in Culver City, CA, Mael spent his childhood modeling young men\'s apparel for mail-order catalogues; while attending UCLA in 1970, he and Russell formed their first group, Halfnelson. Although Todd Rundgren produced the band\'s self-titled 1971 debut, their quirky, tongue-in-cheek art pop initially failed to find an audience. After their manager successfully convinced the Maels to change the group\'s name, however, Sparks almost reached the Hot 100 with the single \"Wonder Girl.\" 1972\'s sublimely bizarre A Woofer in Tweeter\'s Clothing cemented the band\'s cult status, and scored another near-hit with \"Girl From Germany.\" Following the Maels\' relocation to England, 1974\'s glam-bubblegum opus Kimono My House reached the Top Five on the U.K. album charts and spawned two major British hits,...

Joe Duggan

Joe Duggan is a poet, writer and facilitator, originally from Northern Ireland. His first full collection “Fizzbombs” was published by Tall Lighthouse in 2008. He was highly commended in The Forward Prize 2009 and featured in the Forward Book of Poetry 2010. He was a founder member of the “Bunch of Chancers” Poetry Group in Derry, touring throughout Ireland and New York State. His work has been published by Brand, Abridged, Fingerpost, Bear in Mind (Lagan Press), Cúirt Journal and the Shuffle Anthology. He has also written stories for children, rap lyrics for the Irish band Different Drums and two texts for Echo Echo Dance Company. He enjoys performing widely on the London poetry scene and featured at Latitude Festival in 2009. Tennessee Williams, pseudonimul literar al lui Thomas Lanier Williams, (n. 26 martie 1911 – d. 25 februarie 1983) a fost un dramaturg, poet și romancier american, laureat al premiului Pulitzer pentru dramă pentru piesa de teatru A Streetcar Named Desire (Un tramvai numit dorință) în 1948 și ulterior pentru piesa Cat On a Hot Tin Roof (Pisica pe acoperișul fierbinte) în 1955. Orson Scott Card (n. 24 august 1951) este un scriitor cunoscut mai ales pentru romanul Jocul lui Ender (Ender\'s Game), publicat în 1985. Este actualmente profesor la Southern Virginia University în Buena Vista, Virginia. VIAȚA: Card s-a născut în Richland, Washington, a terminat Brigham Young University și University of Utah.
