Gilbert Keith Chesterton was born in London, England on the 29th of May, 1874. Though he considered himself a mere \"rollicking journalist,\" he was actually a prolific and gifted writer in virtually every area of literature. A man of strong opinions and enormously talented at defending them, his exuberant personality nevertheless allowed him to maintain warm friendships with people-- such as George Bernard Shaw and H. G. Wells--with whom he vehemently disagreed. Chesterton had no difficulty standing up for what he believed. He was one of the few journalists to oppose the Boer War. His 1922 Eugenics and Other Evils attacked what was at that time the most progressive of all ideas, the idea that the human race could and should breed a superior version of itself. S-a născut la Stockholm în anul 1931. A publicat critică literară în paginile mai multor ziare și reviste suedeze, printre care „Dagens Nyheter”, „Expressen”, „BLM”. Debutează ca poet în anul 1955 cu volumul de poezii Akrobaterna (Acrobații), publicând după aceea numeroase volume, majoritatea excelând prin bogăția imaginilor. Ion Sân-Giorgiu (n. 1893, Botoșani - d. 1950) a fost un scriitor român. A scris poezii apropiate de tradiționalism, piesele sale de teatru sunt însă, în parte, tributare expresionismului. A mai fost și critic, eseist, jurnalist, academician și politician de dreapta. A condus revista legionară "Chemarea Vremii". În țară a fost condamnat la moarte într-un proces "in absentia", a murit însă în exil. WDWilliam Diehl
William Diehl (December 4, 1924 – November 24, 2006) was an American novelist and photojournalist. Diehl was fifty years old and already a successful photographer and journalist when he decided he had not heeded his life calling. The day after his 50th birthday he began his first novel, Sharky's Machine, which was made into a movie directed by and starring Burt Reynolds. Diehl later completed eight more novels, including Primal Fear, which became a movie by the same name starring Richard Gere and Edward Norton. Diehl died at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia on November 24, 2006, of an aortic aneurism. He was a resident of Woodstock, Georgia at the time of his death and was working on his tenth novel. Emil Brumaru (n. 25 decembrie 1939, Bahmutea, Basarabia) este un scriitor și poet contemporan român. Fiul lui Grigore Brumaru, funcționar CFR, și al Elisabetei, învățătoare. Urmează Liceul Național (absolvit în 1955), Facultatea de Medicină din Iași (1963). Devine medic la Dolhasca (1963-1975), din 1975 renunță la medicină pentru a se dedica exclusiv scrisului. Apreciat în egală masură atât de critica literară, cât și de publicul larg, reușește să impresioneze și prin personalitatea sa non-conformistă. Are rubrici în România literară, Ziarul de Iași și în Suplimentul de cultură, a scris în revista Plai cu boi, dă interviuri în revistele mondene, participă la discuții pe Internet.
