Fue bautizada con los nombres de María Rosalía Rita. Hija de madre soltera y padre desconocido (supuestamente un cura de la zona). Muy poco se sabe de su educación. Se sabe que en la escuela mostró talento de versificadora. También le gustaba el dibujo, la música y la declamación. Contrajo matrimonio con Manuel Murguía, erudito cronista de Galicia. Al año siguiente da a luz a su primera hija, Alejandra, a la que han de seguir seis hijos más. Su domicilio cambió muchas veces, entre Madrid y Simancas. Rosalía nunca disfrutó de una buena salud. Luchando siempre con la enfermedad, y a menudo con la penuria, vivió dedicada a su hogar: a sus hijos y a su marido. Nunca aspiró a la fama. De hecho, su marido fue el que la convenció de que publicara sus obras. Murió de cáncer a los cuarenta y ocho años en su casa de Padrón, que hoy es un museo. Anatole France, pseudonym for Jacques Anatole Thibault (1844-1924), was the son of a Paris book dealer. Ben Doyle
Ben Doyle was born in Warsaw, New York, in 1973. He completed his undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Oswego and West Virginia University. His first collection of poetry, Radio, Radio, (Louisiana State University Press, 2001) was selected by Susan Howe for the 2000 Walt Whitman Award. He received his MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where he was awarded a Teaching-Writing Fellowship. His poems have appeared in Colorado Review and Fence. He currently lives in Iowa City.

William Ernest Henley (23 August 1849 – 11 July 1903) was an English poet, critic and editor. Born 23 August 1849 Gloucester, England Died 11 July 1903 (aged 53) Occupation Poet, critic and editor Nationality English Education The Crypt School, Gloucester Writing period c. 1870–1903 Henley was born at Gloucester and was the eldest of a family of six, five sons and a daughter. His father, William, was a bookseller and stationer who died in 1868 leaving young children and creditors. His mother, Mary Morgan, was descended from the poet and critic, Joseph Warton. From 1861-67 Henley was a pupil at the Crypt Grammar School (founded 1539). A Commission had recently attempted to revive the school by securing the brilliant and academically distinguished T. E.
