Matei Vișniec este născut în 1956 în România. Copilăria și-a petrecut-o la Rădăuți. Tatăl era contabil iar mama învățătoare. Familia sa a avut experiența dureroasă de a i se fi confiscat pamântul pe care-l deținea și îl lucra. De mic observă că trebuie să adopte la școala și mai târziu în viața activă o ideologie de care știa că nu este chiar așa de perfectă și de adevarată. Această diferență între realitate și modul în care este înfățișată realitatea, cum ar fi spus tatăl său contabil, între scriptic și faptic, va fi inspiratoarea multora din piesele sale. Din copilărie într-un oraș în genul acelora "în care nu se întâmplă nimic" cum spunea Minulescu i-a rămas o amintire de neuitat: spectacolul circului în turneu la Rădăuți. Phoebe Pratten was born in Canberra Australia in 1975. At the age of three, she was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy. By 14 she was not able to walk anymore, as the disease affected the muscles. At the same time she couldn\'t make use of her hands or her arms, so she needed to find different ways of holding the pen. Her interests include art, alternative health and writing poetry. The first collection of poetry \"Layers of Silence\" was published in 1999.

Am venit pe lume la sfarsitul lunii lui Cuptor intr-un orasel de la poalele muntilor Calimani (Toplita, jud. Harghita). Fiind primul copil in familia mea si prima nepoata de altfel, am fost foarte mult indragita si chiar resfatata de tot neamul. Imi aduc aminte de zilele de la cresa si de prima tabara la mare (Navodari) aveam vreo 4 anisori si plangeam in fiecare seara dupa mami si tati, numaram pe degete zilele care ma desparteau de ei. Anul 1989 ma gasea intr-o camera de garda la spital cu injectia de penicilina in plina actiune, imi aduc aminte ca asistentele au inceput sa tipe, si tata m-a luat repede si am plecat, fugea cu mine in brate si nu intelegeam de ce. Pentru varsta la care eram atunci revolutia nu a facut nici o diferenta. De prima zi de scoala imi aduc aminte ca de un vis scaldat in emotii si teama. Simt si acum parfumul invatatoarei si mana ei calda.Anii de primara au trecut foarte repede, gimnaziul a fost mai diferit, nu imi placea matematica si stiu ca tremuram...
