Children´s dreams

The sky is falling down,
clouds heavy and black
laden with anger and rage
chase away the pretty Angels
and dragons of cotton wool,
so white and pure
like the pillows that
cradle children’s dreams…
of fairytales where sugar trains
run through chocolate towns…
dreams that come true
for the fortunate few
in soft white beds
and rooms full of toys,
who pray for those with no voice
hungry, ill and cold
on a bed of dust
dreaming again
of clean water, bread
and a blanket for the night, perhaps…
