The sparrows roll into feather balls,
to fight the frosty nights,
the singers have flown to warmer lands,
and now the skies are quiet,
but, they will return one day….
The sun is tired and feels the cold,
he’ll soon be strong and in his charming way
tempt the first timid flowers to grow
and raise their curious heads
out of the melting snow…
Love, too, will make her rounds in spring,
when your fresh wounds have healed,
and new bright eyes greet you once again
Until the days stretch lazily
in the smiling sun,
we have lived and loved through the year…
suffered… certainly,
while the seasons have passed us
the birds have sung and gone
the leaves fallen red, gold and rust
and the cold dark hours are here once more,
like it was only yesterday, true…
the world isn’t like it was before
and we have changed, too…
without realizing…
