The city lights are drawing
him closer
the lone wanderer,
hungry for food and love
he enters, mingles with the crowd,
a drink, a chat, a laugh,
who knows what will be,
he takes his chance…
A window alight, not far away,
shelters a girl lost in dreams,
waiting for the one,
hoping and searching the street,
she knows she has to leave
her lonely room and merge
with the city
to feel its life, its energy,
to once again take her heart,
maybe this is the day…
someone will talk to me,
someone nice, someone true,
maybe my heart will lead me…
this time…
She finds a bar with music and joy
friendly eyes shine in the dim light
another night, another dream,
is this my chance?
Who knows what will be…
