City lights

City lights, like a million candles
dancing on a distant shore,
windows alight, a thousand faces,
a thousand destinies…
greeting a lone wanderer...
engines, voices, laughter, a buzzing nest
is luring me like sirens
with the music of life….
City lights, merging with the sky,
a sea of yellow, red and gold,
far away illusions of happiness,
Fata Morgana, melting like a dream…
your dream, my hopes…my fantasies…
head or tails… luck or despair…
who sees the coin
when it falls …
come closer!
The lights turn into shapes…and… sounds…
angry, noisy, demanding, deceiving…
reality destroys this fragile harmony,
turn back, go home!
City lights like a million eyes,
inviting, offering…
curiosity is smiling… seducing…
hearts beating, life pulsating…
come closer…
come closer!
