In the stillness of the mind,
Like spiders waiting for prey,
Dusty cobwebs bar the way
To the light inside
Trying to reach my hungry eye,
A word, an image, a name –
Sets lose the demons ready to kill,
Every last bit of peace in my heart,
like ticks they cling to my thoughts
with the desperate will
Of a flower pushing through stone –
To stay alive against all odds,
While the images turn rose and blur,
Until oblivion draws the veil –
Hiding the last few tears,
Leaving only beauty and happiness
To smile at you again
Under the old wound’s crust,
To finally bridge the gap to the past
And – missing is not so painful anymore
