No clouds paint the horizon,
promising rain,
the long awaited cool kiss
for earth’s dry lips
The sun’s hot embrace
drains the air of all breath,
life hangs its head
deserts were fields once were,
exhausted from surviving
squeezed dry of all feeling
hearts harden
everyone for himself, no pardon
for the weak, the old,
take life or die, there’s no God
as life clings to its last moment
the loving soul must go,
flee the horror inside
with tears in her eyes
