Casting out the net
of your thoughts
to catch my attention
once it is trapped,
wriggling and gasping for air
you take it into your hands,
look at it curiously
then return it to the sea;
the fish can swim away
at the angler’s mercy
who had his win,
purpose served,
my head is turned,
our thoughts touched
for one moment
