Inside my mirror once
your eyes gazed at me via mine,
this one second we were one…
now you are
the sand running through my fingers,
the clock that stands still,
the time we stole and lost
is the salt eating at my feet…
An eternal thought,
you are trapped inside my mind,
damned to wander
without aim or cause…
while I can only be
the seagull whose flight
you watch for one brief sigh,
before you turn and walk away,
shaking off my fragile laughter
which rings in the waves
under a cool evening breeze…
