Stolen time

A moment of eternity,
deep from its generous heart,
spent with a kindred soul
values more
than all minutes wasted
on pleasing shining mirrors
and the servants of vanity,
if I had to search the universe
to be with you for one beat
of my heart,
to see you smile,
feel your touch,
a second I would steal
and hide it in the ocean,
a drop of love wrapped in a tear
to melt with the infinite,
forever free to be…
never to be found again…
