MOONLIT PICTURE
by Sorana Lucia Salomeia
Thin clouds play with the moonlight
Which spreads its wings on the entire sky.
Oh, the moon…
It looks like an endless stream of sadness
On the bottom of a giant world,
A silent stream running through the core
Of my midnight thoughts.
Every night, time and time again,
The long breezes bring to the sea
All the earthly pictures they meet
And then spread them all along
The shores of the sleeping world.
Then we fill our lungs
With the breath of the sea,
A breath taken from the inestimable warmth
Of this fantastic moonlit picture.
The sound of the waves
Beating against the shores of life
Hides the eternal silence
In the seas and oceans
From your thirsty ear.
How awfully sad
The fate of the world would be
If, one day, the vastness of the seas
Would be just foam and clouds
Coyly boiling,
Spreading burns and ashes
Under the celestial moonlit mirror.
