LIPS OF RAIN

Autumn paints two lips of rain
On a face that’s weeping
With cold, dry leaves of rust
That roll down two cheeks of glass.
The rain drops run down in streams
Confused by a dazzling wind
That howls and shivers
Like a restless beast
Imprisoned in a cage of madness.
And autumn runs its fingers of lead
Down the windows of the night,
Grinning from behind dark clouds of smoke
And through the rain of moonlight beams.
