A line,
The thread of your breath
Crossing the war scarred Mediterranean.
From the adornments of palaces to the mighty
Depths of solitude and submission
Deep in the veins of monastic vows
And cavernous
Deserts.
Week by weak,
Stronger in the love for the Creator of silence.
A sea of prayers later,
You left your heart on a beam of light.
On the wood of the cross
Words breaking the silence in a last wish.
A trembling kiss on the head of your humble elder
Sealed your soul with the lily
Of a caressing death,
Known only to the eyes of the skies above
And the lips of quiet,
Deserted prayers
You headed home.
Heavens above
