Floating. midst of light

Floating in the midst of light,
this Caribbean blue
round as earth,
veiling the whisper of the sea
in clouds
the center piece of the day,
heavenly cut,
dripping in the heart
like the flowing sound of
your breath
I imagine this afternoon
following in the footsteps of boreal nights
opening the eyes to
light tracing birds,
white and punctilious
away from the shores of your lips,
floating seconds,
spreading the voice of windy departures
in the soft spoken kiss
of the sky
and you, just you,
making the sign
from east to west
from north to south
over and over
time
with raindrops
