the day was deep and blistering calm
when the gyrocopter landed in the heart of our deserted camp.
the horizon was melting in the distance,
dancing like battle ropes used by abandoned gods
trying to stay fit for the dangers of fallen memories,
alive once again.
the air was confident and high
with my thoughts travelling across nations of clouds,
seeking the shelter of your embraces long gone
- your kiss is still with me, a ban done
to my hopes, of holding your forever
in my sight, at supper - when the messenger landed today.
he handed me a word, confident and wrapped in the smell of you,
envelope of delight.
the day was deep and a blistering balm
when I put my eyes on your hand, writing to me from afar:
reading your letter
I felt at peace, my love, knowing that, until that day,
our thoughts still meet in the sky above,
rain to my soul,
in this oasis of solitude, desert of you
