The city flooded by a sea of madness
Unraveled sounds that lied in us for ages:
The scattered waves of voices from the sages
Dissolve great minds in apathy and flatness.
We listen to the music in our cages,
And bring the alphabet of hate like Cadmus.
We see each other through this veil of drabness,
And cast dim shadows in and out ribcages.
Yet in the gloom, through sparks of light we dare see
A figment of the dreams we left out, hanging.
In twilight's grasp, our hopes begin to seep free,
As echoes of lost aspirations clanging.
From depths of night, new dawns begin to quiver,
And wake our hearts from an unyielding fever.
